Grief encompasses our response to a loss which can impact our physiological, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual functioning. Grief encompasses more than solely the death of a loved one. My clients come to me with many areas of grief; challenging relationship dynamics or divorce, loss of a job or hope, change in health, or other significant life transition. I specialize in working with caregivers of loved ones with terminal illness, young widows, and bereaved men. I also offer support in areas of anxiety and depression.
I utilize a number of grief frameworks in addition to psychotherapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems in order to best serve you and your goals for therapy. You will find my treatment approach to be empathetic and flexible, providing you with gentle feedback and appropriate accountability throughout our work together. My goal is to support and normalize your growth throughout therapy, and to provide tools to support you as you forge your path ahead.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington ( #LW 60579989). I am a native Seattleite and graduated from Seattle University in 2006 with a BA in Psychology. I later earned my MSW in 2015 from Portland State University. I have worked in the hospice field for over five years, and understand the magnitude death and other life transitions can have on one's overall health.
Anyone who feels challenged or "stuck" by their cumulative responses to the loss of a loved one, chronic illness, divorce, significant life transition (ie. ending a toxic relationship or career change). I specialize in working with bereaved men and younger widows. I embrace all identities and backgrounds, and feel it is of paramount importance that you feel seen and heard in our work together.
